Our Story
YPLUS Malawi was established in 2015 as a youth-led advocacy movement dedicated to improving the lives of young people living with HIV. What started as a small support group has grown into a national movement, championing the rights and wellbeing of youth across the country.
Through our programs, we have reached thousands of young people with HIV education, testing services, counseling, and advocacy training. We work closely with healthcare providers, community leaders, and partner organizations to create an enabling environment for young people to thrive.
Our approach is rooted in peer support – we believe that young people are best positioned to understand and address the challenges faced by their peers. By empowering youth leaders and amplifying their voices, we drive meaningful change in HIV care and support systems across Malawi.
2015
YPLUS Malawi started as a youth-led support and advocacy movement focused on the needs, rights, and lived realities of young people living with HIV.
2020
The organisation scaled its partnerships, peer support, and community-facing work across districts, connecting more young people to care, training, and leadership opportunities.
Today
YPLUS Malawi continues to shape safer, more inclusive systems by amplifying youth voices and working directly with providers, communities, and national partners.
